This is intended as a sort of petition.
Many evenings Lonewolf is on the Taste of Death server and there are no other administrators around (usually in the early evening).
This isn't intended as a slam against other admin, but it would be advantageous since he is often on relatively early. He could help us change maps prior to vote period and one of my pet peeves, kick people who have been AFK for extended periods of time (I for one would rather have a bot playing than a dead slot being consumed by a non-player(s)).

On the ToD server you can rockthevote if you dont like the map (after you have played atleast 10 to 12 minutes of it I think)
As for the admin thing, no one has talked to the server owner in a while so doubt anything will happen with that anytime soon...thought I heard the rumor that the server was only paid for a year and it was about up....dont quote me on that because like I stated the owner is MIA.

It can't happen until someone gets a hold of Daver (he's only one with FTP access to TOD at the moment)
I would like to get more people to move over to TLS, it runs cleaner and there are many things in the works over there.
As far as the server I don't know how long it's paid for or if he renewed it for another year yet.
AAMO started what . . . . around May or June? It was paid up for a year then so we are coming close to when it might shut down. Unfortunately as of right now we can't do much with TOD

Right on the money there Buldgy old boy...
I don't have a clue what's gonna happen to TOD in the next 30-90
days. My guess is it will just disappear one day. (I'd say closer to 30)
Having said that I'll second what the good Prof said about getting into TLS and building it into what it could be.
If we wait too long and TOD expires, I feel we won't get the whole gang of regulars to make the move to TLS.
I posted something similar in the private area and received zilch
replies. I will say this, as far as I knew him Dave was a great guy
and I wouldn't push this switch to degrade Dave or the TOD server in any way! Rather I see it as necessary to keep a good group of AAMO and regular server players (which IMO seem to be the greatest group going) together and enjoying our gaming experiences!
Furthermore, to our regulars who play on TOD or TLS, you are also owners of the server. We have an area to report out of control players to the admin...use it. I've seen some of the regulars kindly asking others to follow the rules and that's great!

The problem with TLS is that for some of us that would play early in the afternoon that is just enough players. A few more bot in there would be a BIG plus. Also I do not know it it has been done already but is the "smoke" option on for TLS? Other than that I would of switch 3 weeks ago.

Also one last thing, some issues we have in TOD is unfortunately , some players come in and just act like idiots: team kills, cursing, verbally attacking regulars for no apparent reason. So if we could have a temporary band of 24hours for those players it would be great. Like Guns pointed it out earlier, access to an admin is not always possible, so an automatic band would have to be used. Now it could be annoying at first, but we do know who is there regularly and who is not, so we could pass the word along so we could avoid regulars being band for that time. Just a tought.

Hey Milk.
By no means am I thinking that everyone should abandon TLO for TLS. I just would like to see more folks migrate there for the evening scrim style match ups! We can time and score rounds and
the server is a bit more responsive.
As far as smoke goes...I hate it! The average infantryman in WWII
didn't carry it. For those who like it fine, I just don't use it nor do I even have it activated. Smoke does work both ways!
As far as the idiot players go...you'll always have them! What you guys need to do is get names AND steam id's and report them here in the appropriate forum. Admins can handle the rest!

Again, at least for the time being, we can't do a thing with Taste of Death. I would recommend getting the players name, Steam ID, and posting the offense on the boards, or letting an admin know when you get the chance.
I'm not exactly sure what the bot situation is but we will work to address it on The Lost Soldiers.
As far as smoke grenades go, I don't know. There have been several regs who have addressed that they wish to be without them for the time being.
Summer is fast approaching and many of us have more to do during the summer than in the fall and winter. Many of us will still be on and playing throughout the summer but I would imagine things won't start "hopping" again until the leaves start falling.
So please keep playing and enjoying as we get everything worked out, even if it takes a little longer than we want. And feel free to add any more suggestions/comments! It will help us make the server more enjoyable for everyone.

If anyone has seen me play you know I like smoke grenades. I argue in favor of their inclusion because they can break the attrition style grindfests that happen on a lot of maps. If you're Hodgie or Beek you can run out, kill six people and keep going. For the rest of us, getting constantly mowed down by an mg or sniper is about as much fun as sticking bamboo under your fingernails.

Personally I like smoke nades, it disrupts the killing streaks, and is a tool that can be used either defensively or offensively. I vote to keep it on, but I played years without, so I won't cry if they're gone. As for switching to TLS, personally I have 3 suggestions that would make me switch instantly ... first, add some bots so I can play a challenging game whenever I want, second, Is there a way for me to keep track of my stats on this server, because I am a stats wohre and play mainly because I can compare to my fellow DoD teammates / ennemies, and last but certainly not least, get some real people in there and have some fun games, everytime I have a peek, there is always more regs on ToD than on TLS, so I always choose the server with more people in it, because like the old saying goes : The more , the bloodier !
