cheating

Hi,
I don't say much at any time during the game and i don't show aggression. I'm pretty easy to get along with. I try to make it a rule to get along with everyone. It's only a game to have fun.

I would like to ask if anyone else's machine has problems when someone else puts in cheat codes when your in a game.

My machine acts up when some one uses cheats, it gets jittery,
freezes up, looses sound exc. It's happened more than once.

It doesn't make the game much fun, to play for me, when I'm fighting my machine too.

Rules need to be enforced to keep the game fun, for everyone, thats why they where put there. Unless the server states other wise.

I believe that if people feel they have to use cheats, then why don't they go to a server that allows them.

I think things have been discussed enough about this issue, I believe having to be told more then three times, should result in perm ban, After all we are adults, and shouldn't have to be told.

If people have a problem, over what I have to say, Maybe they should be looked at alittle more closely... (?)as I my self try to follow the rules, I try to respect others after all I am in there home. And I'm here to have fun. Not be petty. But it is frustrating and it is no fun knowing, my machine is working just fine, and then it all of a sudden acts up. And people wind up wearing some invincible armor and such.

I don't have a problem getting killed. I die alot..and I don't have a problem when team mates accidentally kill me. I'm not a great player, I know this. I don't like fighting with my comp.

Thanks for your concern Genesis, and I agree with what you have to say.
If you could record it, whether it be making a demo in game, taking a screen-shot or two, or even just jotting down the time it happened along with who you suspect and why. And post it or PM one of the admin we'd be more than happy to look into it.

A few of us are new at this and changes have slowed for the time being. But they are coming. Eventually we'll have a server that's in good shape. Unfortunately it's going to take time. The names on the Banned list keeps growing and I would think eventually this issue will minimize.

As far as the computer acting up though, I'm not sure. I think it would have more to do with your connection to the server. I could help a little with that but I'm sure there are others on here who may have had the same problem and resolved the issue.

I approve of what Genesis said and feel the same things here, but look it's not evedent to accuse somebody of cheating in a game from someone who doesn't Know too much but learned fast (I think)...
One thing I look first is the ping of the person cause sometimes high ping cause us trouble and then again I have my doubt !!!

But about accusing somebody from a regular team , even if I'd be sure hummmm I don't know if I would put it in a pm after all

I'm here to have fun, and I don't like when somebody pisses me off like killing me in spawn area( my own teamates) and when I have too much I just leave or go on another server, but the matter of cheats will always be there unfortunatly. It's a matter of self consciences

I'd also go into console: type net_graph 3 this shows how you're running. If you have high loss and high choke the article and it's links should help. Loss and choke can be adjusted and are explained in the article by adjustment of rates. net_graph 0 turns it off...I've been running mine regularly.

Don't think someone running a hack would effect your comps performance.

I have sadly had the opportunity to see alot of hackers, as well as alot of higher end-play. There is no hack that will affect your computers FPS performancing. "Rating" hackers, or unhittable brazilians (see also : Hodgie), will cause your choke loss to skyrocket when you see them, but nothing will affect your FPS like you have stated. Might wanna consider a $500 computer upgrade.

Thank you all for your help answering my questions.
I have checked my rates they are fine, or even better then fizbans. My comp is brand new and I only have this trouble on tod. I play on other servers with no trouble. Even when I had trouble with tod and left to another server and came back again.
I'll try all that u have said. But I still believe I'm being spammed. And my registration is off. We will keep working on it.

I'm sorry some feel I was targeting other players, If u read it again, I hope that u realize I wasn't targeting anyone, just asking questions.

My computer runs worse on TOD than ANY other server. I don't know why but that's a fact.

I was once told that a server needed re-booted or reset or something like that every so often. I can't verify that though and maybe someone who's more knowledgeable can enlighten us.

I thought Fiz had to pedal his rig just to power it! ;D

Check out the Kirk server "The Wrath of Khan". It is also on gamerservers, same as TOD but I adjusted some of the settings in the server.cfg.

ToD is running with some very default rates. I do not believe it is boosted either. With the amount of maps, as well as the stress sturmbot puts on the server, I am not surprised that people experience higher pings and more choke/loss on this server.

One thing that could greatly increase playability would be to remove half of the maps, and to also reboot the server every day or every other day. Bots will kill a low ghz server every time. They were never optimized, and can and will lag a machine until the day your machine blows up. The machine the server is running on apparently isn't jesus, so it needs more maintenance than the average server.

OK I did'nt want to say anythings yesterday about this but this morning I decide to do so, cause I think those acting should be told!!!!!!

I had my control option all fixes in a different way that the standard one , and then all of suddenly they changes yesterday after I went on a certain server ( I Know wich one believe me)

I was told that someone could use a certain way or cheat whatever to changes my controls !!!!!!


Dammit is that possible , hey i'm here to have some fun, spend time and some laugh here, does people take the game so seriously to do that???

I'm not a pro or any danger to anyone I think ,but this is ridiculous, those acts should be punish and I mean ban there game from Steam, I will not tolerate this, and if that means tell out loud well good.
I'm not accusing anyone here but I had to let go my frustration this morning so no need to reply on this message unless you had the same problems.

any admin can change ur settings...they can set it to where when u goto shoot it kills ya.....some servers have not a very nice person admins like that
