Well, it's up and running. Whew! Took me 5 days to debug it so it would work properly, and it was all because I was off by one keystroke in a command line argument. That bugger was hard to find... I still need to learn a lot more about it and get it configured for a Day of Defeat theme layout, as well as add clan names and images, etc. Let me know what you guys think. www.tod.clanservers.com/stats/ PS. There's been thousands of players on the server since I created it, but it's only showing 280 as of this moment because I only started the player logs 5 days ago.

Somewhere on the TOD server header you should mention to come check out your stats. Get the traffic up in here a bit.
That's really pretty darn nice though Dave!!!

I took bots off the stats rankings. This way the rankings will be more reflective of the players, and not someone who just camps out a spot and kills one bot after another.
I don't think I'll reset the stats database though. I'll just keep it as is, and the bots that are already ranked should slowly filter down and off the list eventually.

There's already a guy on the stats server who's racked up 800+ kills doing just that! He'll drop like a rock now! ;D

Well, not sure if anyone noticed, but the stats page hasn't been updated since 12pm EST on July 26th. It's a problem that is out of my control, as it's related to the cron daemon not running properly on my web hosting providers server. The cron daemon actually dropped out a couple times. Customer support is slow, and I am not permitted SSH access to fix it. I do have a solution, I am now the proud owner of Tasteofdeath.net and I'll slowly be moving all the content over to there. The domain is parked for the moment, and you may or may not be able to access it yet depending on whether or not the DNS entries have propagated to your ISP's DNS server. It should be available soon, if not already. The stats are going to change a bit as well. Previously, some bot kills counted before I turned that feature off. That will all be reset and only kills against other players will count. I still have all the game logs going back to the other week, so player kills will still be there. Also, I am working on adjusting the skill rating based on what weapon you used. For example, a shovel or knife kill will count more than a mg kill. A rifle kill will count more than a sub mg kill, but will count less than a pistol kill, knife or shovel kill. Get the idea where I am going with that?

Or sink like the Titanic! ;D
Is there another stat program that might be more compatible?

Is there a way dave to keep someone with a 1/2 hour playing time out of the top 10? Currently I see Hodgie at 40+ hours at like #15. Seems like caps don't count for anything as he has quite a few.

I'll look into it and see what I can do. There are a few settings I can adjust such as how long a player has to play before becoming ranked. I don't really think I can change what skill they will have though. That is determined by a built in formula by psychostats. Based on that skill and other players skill, it will determine where a player will be ranked. I believe skill is only calculated based on Kill/Death ratio and is relative to who you killed, and who killed you, what weapon was used, and nothing else. So caps don't count for skill. They do show up on the awards page though. The stats page I have up right now is a temporary one. I have another one that I am working on behind the scenes. One setting that I am playing around with is called a decay value. Basically it will cause a players skill to decay by whatever amount I choose if they have not been on the server for a certain amount of time. Maybe you can give me some tips on what would be a good decay setting? An example might be that their skill reduces by 100 points per day unless they play that day. So if someone hasn't played in 10 days, their skill would drop 1000 points.

Well, decay rate I think would entirely depend on how many points are attributed to what action.

Looking at the pychostats forum it looked like 100 was a common setting.

So how is one determined to be the "Worst Team Mate of the Month"? Which by the way was ME, followed by most of YOU!
I tell I don't get no respect! ;D
