There are some DX10 graphics cards out now. Go with NVidia. ATI is backing down production and starting to market more towards the middle end graphics cards.
The only real problem right now is the lack of support. Everyone is kinda fixing bugs as they come up. and as for Vista, well, (I can't believe I'm saying this) it's not all that bad. My whole system went kerpluey a couple months back and I was in a bind for a pc so I ended up with Vista, otherwise I would have had to wait a month to get a new XP disk.
It eats a lot of power so the more processing you have the better. My new MoBo is ready to go when AMD releases their quad core sometime at the end of the year. Then I will be a happy man!
